Matt Slivka founded Rockside Dental in Marana, AZ, in 2010, starting with limited practice management experience and without mentorship. Initially, his practice lacked clear goals and direction, but joining the Dental Success Institute (DSI) in 2018 was transformative. Under the guidance of DSI Blackbelt Coaches, Matt redefined his approach, developing Rockside Dental from a small neighborhood practice into a prominent general family practice with over 14 treatment rooms in an 8,000 sq. ft. facility on the edge of Tucson. Now, as a DSI Blackbelt Coach himself, he shares his experiences, insights, and successes with other dentists. While Matt enjoys practicing dentistry, his passion lies in team leadership and community impact. He believes in treating his team with the same respect and care as patients, fostering a supportive, purpose-driven environment with over 20 team members. With a background in International Studies from Brigham Young University, he now dedicates time to his nonprofit organization, Rockside Reach International, which provides dental care to communities in Guatemala as his practice grows increasingly independent.
"Without a doubt, I find the most joy and fulfillment in being a husband and father. My amazing wife, Becky, and I are blessed to have six incredible kids–five daughters and one son. I enjoy playing tennis and mountain biking with my son and doing just about everything girly with my girls. Daddy-daughter dances, pedicures, boy bands–you name it, and I have probably done it and likely loved it! As my kids hit middle and high school, we discovered that we LOVE traveling as a family. Every year, we find an iconic city in the US, have a cool concert, and take a trip as a family. Thomas Rhett in Boston. Taylor Swift in LA. Not a lot of people had six kids (one being a six-year-old) at Soldier Field in Chicago to see Kenny Chesney, but we did, and we loved it. Life is pretty great and is meant to be shared with the ones we love."
