719: Technician to CEO
Our guest today gained his business knowledge the same way most of us did, baptism by fire. A trained technician, Steve took over as CEO in 1999 without any formal business training. He says the operations and systems were the first thing to really make sense, but the marketing and lead generation was the most difficult part. So, like any good business owner, he pressed into it. Today, he’s a published author, speaker, and coach in the area of marketing and lead generation.
During our time together, we discuss:
- The transition from technician to CEO
- Referral generation as one of the most difficult parts of running a company
- Asking patients to be your number one salesman
- The three things to pay attention to when generating leads
